100% Wool Burel Vest Marine
This noble fabric comes to us from Portugal, made from pure virgin sheep wool from the Serra da Estrela, durable and very resistant. It was traditionally used to make the warm and waterproof cloaks of shepherds who roamed the mountains of central and northern Portugal.
The extraordinary qualities of burel are due to a unique artisanal manufacturing process: once washed and treated, the wool is placed on the loom to be warped (prepared). After weaving, the wool is placed on a fulling mill (pisão), a machine that beats and scalds the wool to make the fabric more compact and resistant.
The fabric is thick, therefore warm, windproof, and ultra-strong.
Interior fabric is Scottish tartan with dominant red and marine colors.
