Lyon Two-Wheel Show
If you love riding pre-war motorcycles, come participate on February 14-15-16, 2020, at the first edition of "L'intrépide." An original race/demonstration that will take place indoors during the Lyon Two-Wheel Show.
THE PRINCIPLE:
A race/demonstration*, one-on-one, on a 60m long ring track with 2 banked turns at both ends.
The idea is to recapture the spirit of the epic races of the pioneers from the early 20th century and to offer a format that is a bit more spectacular and more fun than a "flat race."
Registration and participation in this first edition is completely FREE.
(* this is not a proper race but a demonstration. No timing, no winner... just riding in the spirit of races from that era)
THE TRACK:
A 60m x 40m ring with 2 banked turns at the ends. The 2 turns will be built with very compacted earth. So no issues with dust or "rideability," but guaranteed sensations.
THE MACHINES:
This race/demonstration is reserved for pre-war motorcycles (Before 1947, since between 1939 and 1947 not much happened in terms of motorcycle development), with an engine capacity of 250 to 500cm3 max.
Motorcycles must carry a number plate on the front and on the side. The choice of number is up to you. It must be communicated to us during registration.
The machines should, as much as possible, have a racing look, without a front headlight or saddlebag.
At registration, photos must be sent to us to guarantee the authenticity of the machines and the absence of anachronistic modifications.
Motorcycles will be inspected before participation by our technical manager.
THE RIDERS:
A maximum of about thirty riders will be accepted and spread over the 3 days of the event.
Riders must wear period motorcycle gear or similar (boots, pants, gloves, goggles...). A mustache is highly recommended but not mandatory ;)
Riders must ensure their safety by using appropriate equipment.
Riders must be able to present insurance and have a valid motorcycle license.
THE PROGRAM:
The races will take place from noon on Friday, February 14 to Sunday afternoon, February 16. The race schedule will be specified based on the riders' attendance dates.
On the evening of Friday, March 14, a welcome party will be held at the competition stand starting at 7 p.m.
PARKING & ACCESS:
Riders will have a pass allowing them to bring their machines in through the exhibitor entrance and park their vehicles and trailers in the designated parking lot.
Each rider will have a pass for the 3 days of the event;
