Nous sommes très heureux de vous présenter notre toute nouvelle montre nommée "La Tocante". Un projet qui nous trottait dans la tête depuis plusieurs années et qui voit enfin le jour !
"Tocante" était le terme argot employé au debut du XXème siècle pour qualifier la montre. Car c'est bien à cette époque que cette création originale nous transporte, plus précisemment pendant la "Grande guerre".
"La Tocante" est en effet une réinterprétation de l'iconique "montre de poilus" ou "montre de tranchée" ( "trench watch") qui fut créée pendant la 1ère guerre mondiale en fixant une montre à gousset sur un bracelet de manière à pouvoir la porter au poignet. Une montre beaucoup plus pratique que la traditionnelle montre de poche en situation de combat . Cette montre est considérée comme étant la première montre qui se porte au poignet. Elle incarne à ce titre une étape marquante dans l'histoire de l'horlogerie.
Le design de "La Tocante" reprend les éléments caractèristiques des montres de tranchées avec sa forme ronde qui rappelle celle des montres à Grousset, la typographie artdéco, et son bracelet de force en cuir cousu main.
Pour accentuer encore plus le côté "vintage" de la montre et renforcer son l'authenticité de son design, le boîtier est réalisé en bronze massif qui se patinera avec le temps par une légère oxydation.
Le bracelet ainsi que l' assemblage de la montre sont réalisés par des artisans de Besançon, berceau histoire de l'horlogerie.

We are very happy to present our brand new watch called "La Tocante". A project that we've had in mind for several years and which is finally coming to fruition!
"Tocante" was the french slang term used at the beginning of the 20th century to refer to a watch. Because it is precisely to this era that this original creation transports us, more specifically during the "Great War".
"La Tocante" is indeed a reinterpretation of the iconic "soldier's watch" or "trench watch" which was created during the First World War by attaching a pocket watch to a strap so that it could be worn on the wrist. A much more practical watch than the traditional pocket watch in combat situations. This watch is considered to be the first watch worn on the wrist. As such, it embodies a significant milestone in the history of watchmaking.
The design of "La Tocante" incorporates the characteristic elements of trench watches with its round shape reminiscent of pocket watches, the Art Deco typography, and its hand-stitched leather cuff strap.
To further accentuate the "vintage" aspect of the watch and reinforce the authenticity of its design, the case is made of solid bronze which will develop a patina over time through slight oxidation.
The strap and the assembly of the watch are made by craftsmen in Besançon, the historical cradle of watchmaking.

"La Tocante" sera disponible en 2 versions : une version avec cadran ivoire et bracelet brun et une version avec cadran noir, et bracelet cuir noir.
"La Tocante" will come in 2 versions : one with yvory face and brown leather strap and another version with black face and black leather strap.
